Psalms Chapter: 77
1. Assaf gave this song about our suffering to the conductor.
א. לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל יְדוּתוּן לְאָסָף מִזְמוֹר
2. I’ll raise my voice to HaShem and cry out to Him. And when I do, He’ll listen to me.
ב. קוֹלִי אֶל–אֱלֹהִים וְאֶצְעָקָה, קוֹלִי אֶל–אֱלֹהִים וְהַאֲזִין אֵלָי
3. On my painful days I search for Him. My wounds are throbbing throughout the exile with no relief. My soul won’t get over it!
ג. בְּיוֹם צָרָתִי אֲדֹנָי דָּרָשְׁתִּי, יָדִי לַיְלָה נִגְּרָה–וְלֹא תָפוּג, מֵאֲנָה הִנָּחֵם נַפְשִׁי
4. I remember the good times with HaShem and I groan! And when I talk about it, I feel faint!
ד. אֶזְכְּרָה אֱלֹהִים וְאֶהֱמָיָה, אָשִׂיחָה וְתִתְעַטֵּף רוּחִי סֶלָה
5. You held my eyelids closed. I’m broken and I have no words.
ה. אָחַזְתָּ שְׁמֻרוֹת עֵינָי, נִפְעַמְתִּי וְלֹא אֲדַבֵּר
6. I’m thinking of the good old days, so long ago.
ו. חִשַּׁבְתִּי יָמִים מִקֶּדֶם, שְׁנוֹת עוֹלָמִים
7. In these dark times I remember the songs I played for You. My heart and spirit are thinking and wondering…
ז. אֶזְכְּרָה נְגִינָתִי בַּלָּיְלָה, עִם–לְבָבִי אָשִׂיחָה, וַיְחַפֵּשׂ רוּחִי
8. Will You abandon us forever? Is it possible for Your love to end?
ח. הַלְעוֹלָמִים יִזְנַח אֲדֹנָי, וְלֹא–יֹסִיף לִרְצוֹת עוֹד
9. Will You ever again show us Your affection? Are You saying that You’re done with us?
ט. הֶאָפֵס לָנֶצַח חַסְדּוֹ, גָּמַר אֹמֶר לְדֹר וָדֹר
10. Did You forget how to be compassionate? Will Your rage trump Your mercy forever?
י. הֲשָׁכַח חַנּוֹת אֵל, אִם–קָפַץ בְּאַף רַחֲמָיו סֶלָה
11. I’ve decided that You changed Your behavior to frighten me, so that I’ll come back to You.
יא. וָאֹמַר חַלּוֹתִי הִיא, שְׁנוֹת יְמִין עֶלְיוֹן
12. I feel better when I remember the miracles back in Egypt.
יב. אֶזְכּוֹר מַעַלְלֵי–יָהּ, כִּי אֶזְכְּרָה מִקֶּדֶם פִּלְאֶךָ
13. I’ll spend time thinking about all You’ve done for us and I’ll go around speaking about Your ways.
יג. וְהָגִיתִי בְכָל–פָּעֳלֶךָ, וּבַעֲלִילוֹתֶיךָ אָשִׂיחָה
14. Because HaShem, Your ways are separate from all others. Who’s as great as You?
יד. אֱלֹהִים, בַּקֹּדֶשׁ דַּרְכֶּךָ, מִי–אֵל גָּדוֹל כֵּאלֹהִים
15. Nobody but You is a powerful and marvelous God. You showed the nations Your strength in Egypt.
טו. אַתָּה הָאֵל עֹשֵׂה פֶלֶא, הוֹדַעְתָּ בָעַמִּים עֻזֶּךָ
16. With Your might, You freed Your nation, the children of Jacob and Joseph.
טז. גָּאַלְתָּ בִּזְרוֹעַ עַמֶּךָ, בְּנֵי–יַעֲקֹב וְיוֹסֵף סֶלָה
17. When the waters of the Red Sea saw You, they were afraid. Even the deepest waters were shaken up!
יז. רָאוּךָ מַּיִם אֱלֹהִים,–רָאוּךָ מַּיִם יָחִילוּ, אַף יִרְגְּזוּ תְהֹמוֹת
18. The clouds poured rain on the Egyptians, the skies thundered to confuse them, and even Your lightning bolts were rampant.
יח. זֹרְמוּ מַיִם עָבוֹת, קוֹל נָתְנוּ שְׁחָקִים, אַף–חֲצָצֶיךָ יִתְהַלָּכוּ
19. The sound of Your thunder rolled like a wheel, the world was lit up with lightning and the land shook!
יט. קוֹל רַעַמְךָ בַּגַּלְגַּל–הֵאִירוּ בְרָקִים תֵּבֵל, רָגְזָה וַתִּרְעַשׁ הָאָרֶץ
20. You became known through Your wonders by the Sea. You made paths in deep waters and not a trace of it is still discernible.
כ. בַּיָּם דַּרְכֶּךָ וּשְׁבִילְךָ בְּמַיִם רַבִּים, וְעִקְּבוֹתֶיךָ לֹא נֹדָעוּ
21. You led Your people kindly by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
כא. נָחִיתָ כַצֹּאן עַמֶּךָ, בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן
